sometimesifly asked: I guess it didn't post then.
I just asked you where in Norway you live, and what kind of school you've been going to? I'm definitely looking into all of this once again, even though we had pretty much given up on living here together and just settled with moving to the States. hah.

xyloscope asked: how long do you see yourself living in norway? is maria ever going to live with you in the US?
sometimesifly asked: I don't know if my last question posted at all... Let me know if it didn't and I'll try to remember what I wrote. :]
sometimesifly asked: Hey, I hope I'm not misunderstanding things now, but it seems that you are an American living in Norway? Am I right?
If I am right, how have you made this work? Student visa?
Hopefully I'm not making a complete fool of myself, but my boyfriend is American as well, and I am American/Norwegian living in Norway, and we're just trying to find a way for him to come live...

xyloscope asked: man, i love that movie. the books more. i just watched that one for the third time last night, trying without subtitles. great practice i find.
anyway that's a really good tip, to separate english and the other language. it's like i have to create a new folder in my brain for swedish and stop comparing them. thank you for that!
are you back in norway yet?

xyloscope asked: my school hasn't started yet, so it's really hard to know what it's going to be like. i am sure it's the same in norway but everyone's english is impeccable and i am incredibly grateful that i can go to a restaurant and order in english...but it probably also means i won't learn to speak very fast.
what i have the most problems with is the ö sound...

while i was still in canada a few months ago i changed my iphone to swedish for fun, to see if i'd learn anything, and i think i kept it for three weeks before i was starting to pull my hair out. now that i'm here, it's easier, but sometimes i can't handle it.
i guess it's only been a week since i got here but it is SO. WEIRD. to be surrounded...
